The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that the price for U.S. nationwide for diesel fuel prices rose eight-tenths of a penny to $3.902 per gallon, the first increase in eight weeks.
The national average diesel fuel price is currently 1.4% or 5.4 cents higher than at this time last year.
Diesel fuel prices were up across most of the country this week. California’s price increased 1.9 cents to $4.082 last week, the most expensive price of all regions. In the East Coast, diesel fuel slipped two-tenths of a penny to $4.000. The Gulf Coast diesel prices rose 0.7 cents to $3.831. In the Midwest, prices were up 1.1 cents from last week to $3.845.
Diesel fuel costs 58.7 cents more than gas prices. With fuel manager services, your diesel fuel cost are burning a hole right through your diesel fuel card. Don’t forget, gas prices might be cheaper on your fuel cards but diesel fuel powered trucks are still the best out there.
