Diesel Fuel Prices Still 13.5 Cents Higher

Diesel fuel prices dropped a 1/2 cent a gallon during the last week of 2012. However, the prices of diesel fuel is still 13.5 cents per gallon higher than it was the same week in 2011.

Where do we go from here with diesel fuel? Good question because crude oil prices have continued to go up and gas prices and diesel fuel prices have gone down, so something has to give. It remains me of yesterday with the fiscal cliff, something had to give.

The way that I see things shaking out is the price for your trucks fleet fuel is going to go higher. It’s January, its cold outside so people are using heating oil like crazy in the Northeast. There was pressure on the whole world it seemed for the U.S. to get out of this crazy cliff stuff. There were true fears it would send us back into a recession and as we go, so goes the world in most cases.

This will help companies continue to look ahead a few months instead of wondering what will happen like we all have been the last few months. Crude oil hit a 200 day high today, so if that is any sign of what is coming, its higher fuel prices. At least diesel fuel prices because demand for gas still remains fairly weak.
