For those counting at home, diesel fuel prices have gone up 9 straight weeks. This week diesel fuel raised another 3.8 cents to $4.127 a gallon nationally according to the Department of Energy’s latest information. $4.127 is a lot but that is the national DOE number, in California diesel fuel is the most expensive average at $4.493
This has been a year of streaks for fleet fuel prices. This current streak has erased all but 2 cents of the diesel fuel drop that we saw from April until July. The really bad sign is a lot of people believe diesel fuel prices will continue to climb as we head to the winter. Currently, diesel fuel is already 25.9 cents more expensive than it was this time last year.
