Diesel Exhaust Fluids Growing Fast at Truck Stops

As more trucks have need diesel exhaust fluids, the industry has been able to keep up and possibly exceed where it believe it might be. DEF is growing in bulk dispensing at a rate of more than 2 locations per day. This has been led by a strong offering at Love’s Travel Centers, TA-Petro and certainly Pilot Flying J.

With the demand growing diesel exhaust fluids have remained stable over the last couple of months according to reports from the DEF Tracker. The U.S. price has averaged around $2.79 per gallon.

We would only expect that by midsummer you should be able to find DEF at most of your favorite truck stop locations. Certainly, DEF still has caused an additional level of diesel exhaust fluid management for smaller fleet fueling operations. They must worry about inventory of tote’s, drums, containers and when to reorder at what DEF price. My guess is that DEF will never be sold in bulk at all of the same places companies buy their diesel fuel at but hopefully soon all fleet fuel cards will be able to get the labeling correct on the invoice.
