DEF Gallons Grow

As more companies continue to buy new diesel fuel trucks, the strong raise of Diesel Exhaust Fluids grows.

The DEF market, as reported by Integer, continues its steady growth. Through June, it’s reported that there are over 800,000 SCR vehicles operating in North America. Class 8 vehicles accounted for 90% of the DEF consumption. With Navistar building SCR trucks using the Cummins ISX 15 liter engine, 25% of their production is now SCR as well.

In the second quarter of this year, Class 4-8 trucks consumed 48 million gallons of DEF. In June North America consumed almost 17 million gallons. The volume climbs every month by around 500,000 gallons or around 3%.
