As we know with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pricing in its short life is they have had changes that have moved up and down. The pricing moves have not been as dramatic as diesel fuel prices but for a lot of fleet management companies, flat line is usually better than ups and downs.

Diesel fuel prices rose 2.5 cents to $3.927 a gallon, the second straight increase following two months of declines, while gasoline rose for a sixth week, the Department of Energy said. As with fleet fueling prices things move one way and all of sudden move the other way

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that the price for U.S. nationwide for diesel fuel prices rose eight-tenths of a penny to $3.902 per gallon, the first increase in eight weeks.

We’re in the middle of winter and as it may be considered a mild one as far as Minnesota standards go, cold weather and freezing temps will still be around for a while. As temperatures dip from week to week you may be noticing some differences in the way your vehicle is operating.

It looks like diesel exhaust fluid or DEF as it is mostly called is here to stay for a while. Now, most of you might already know all of the wonderful world of diesel exhaust fluids and some of you fleet managers are just getting trucks now that need DEF.

The new Congressional budget deal enacted this month reinstated a dollar-per-gallon biodiesel fuel tax credit. While this credit will have no direct impact on increasing biodiesel fuel sales, it is hoped to encourage investment in infrastructure for fuel blenders. This could increase production by over 300 million gallons in just a year.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas price in the United States rose in the last three weeks for the first time since early October, as U.S. refineries passed on the cost of higher crude oil prices, which will lead to less fall fuel saving, according to a widely followed survey released on Sunday.

We all know we pay money in taxes for gas and diesel fuel and most of that money goes back into the state or federal highway for the transportation budget.

Gas prices in 2013 will be less cheaper than in 2012 as a result of increased domestic oil production and lower demand, according to AAA. The national average price of gas prices should peak at $3.60-$3.80 per gallon barring any significant unanticipated events, which compares to a peak of $3.94 a gallon in 2012.
